A Brazilian national on Thursday appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Marcos Tosa Mercado Valente of Boa Vista, Brazil is alleged to have had in his possession 355 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking on December 3 at Tabitiuae, Lethem, Rupununi. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded.
His matter is set for March 9, 2010 at the Lethem Magistrates’ Court
